we never knew what normal was
I've written about this before, but I find myself faced by this grammatical phenomenon so consistently that I have to vent a bit more. What is
with people thinking that if a word ends in a vowel, then the pluralized form must have an
apostrophe?!
My ex-boss used to do that: "agenda's" was his big one. Today I ran into it on the website of an apparently
upscale restaurant here in Ottawa: they would like to serve you some martini's, not martinis. People, this drives me bananas!
